Red deer stags and hinds can be seen high on the hills of Breadalbane. During the summer months the deer stay high on the hills away from human contact however, in the winter months they descend to find land to graze on. Throughout October and November in the breeding season the deer become agitated and there barking can be heard over long distances however, if you find yourself close to a deer in breeding season you are best advised to exit from the area.
There are opportunities for hunting throughout the area however, you can also take a more humane option and stalk the deer for the ultimate photograph of the royalty of Scottish wildlife. There are loads of photo opportunities in addition to stalking deer if you want to discover and explore the area.
