The National Cycle Route 7 forms the The Clyde and Loch Lomond Cycle Way and beyond. The route is nearly all on tarmac and takes you through the entire region from south to north. Allowing for several days to complete this section of the route will give you ample time to enjoy the many picturesque villages and viewpoints along the way. If you are embraking on a multi day adventure make sure you book your hotel in advance as the area can be very busy during the summer months. The paths are ideal for families as most of the route is away from main traffic and takes in the scenic paths winding their way through the mountains and lochs.
The route passes through the villages of Balloch, Drymen, Aberfoyle, Callander, Strathyre, Balquhidder, Lochearnhead and Killin. There are many paths, roads and routes that lead off from the main cycle route 7 which will take you deep into the heart of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs.
